Our district is facing an unprecedented gap in funding needed for next year. Historically, our district has kept their budget request of our towns in line with what the towns thought they could offer. That meant updates to technology, curriculum improvement, building maintenance, you name it – were pushed off to another time. That time has come.
Next year we face:
- 30% increase to utility costs
- 10% increase to healthcare for our teachers and staff
- Aging HVAC systems and leaky roofs
- Aging technology – getting in the way of student progress
- 14% State authorized increase to special education out-of-district services
Our district needs a budget increase of 18% in order to provide the SAME LEVEL OF SERVICE our students received this year. Working together as One District – One Story of Student Success, we can address this budget challenge and ensure all of our students reach their full learning potential in the year ahead.
